Troy's Local Weather and Its Impact on HVAC Systems

Troy, Ohio, experiences a continental climate with cold winters and hot, humid summers. This type of climate necessitates the need for reliable and efficient heating and cooling systems. The extreme seasonal temperature deltas, high-saturation latent heat loads from the Ohio River Valley, and atmospheric corrosive particulates can accelerate the thermal fatigue of gas furnace heat exchangers and cause the oxidative degradation of outdoor condenser fins. At Mason Heritage Air, we understand the importance of considering these factors when designing and installing HVAC systems. Our team uses industry-leading techniques, such as Manual J Load Calculations and Manual D Duct Design, to ensure that your system is tailored to your specific needs and the local climate.

Furthermore, we are well-versed in the technical aspects of HVAC systems, including Subcooling and Superheat diagnostics, External Static Pressure gradients, Psychrometric dehumidification cycles, ECM motor torque curves, and MERV-rated filtration efficiency. Our expertise allows us to address common issues in the region, such as biological growth in dark evaporator cabinets, secondary heat exchanger fouling in high-efficiency furnaces, frozen condensate drain lines during Polar Vortex events, and the threat of refrigerant acidity and compressor slugging in aging residential heat pump systems.
